This is a list of Zouave Units in the Civil War or ones that were active shortly before the start of hostilities. It is probably never going to be a complete list, but I shall try my best to get as many listed as possible; I will add information as I can. This is not a complete listing of the exact day each unit was issued their zouave uniforms, adopted the zouave name/nickname, or switched out of zouave garb. This is a listing of units that were either uniformed as zouaves and/or referred to as "zouaves" by themselves or the media during the era of the American Civil War.
PLEASE NOTE: A ? after the company or regimental numerical designation means that the nickname of the unit is unknown (if there even was one).
